I don’t have any superstitions. I feel like it’s a distraction if your superstitions aren’t happening or things don’t go your way.
Who has had the most influence on your athletic career?
My family, they’ve been supporting me since I first started freestyle and they will do so until my last competition! I really trust them with everything.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome?
Taking it slow when you’re injured, taking the time to get better and trusting your body.
Personal goals outside of sport
After skiing, I want to have a job that I truly enjoy and raise a family.
Favorite yoga pose
Too many to pick only one, but something like the child’s pose, warrior II, crow pose, happy baby, rock the baby… They all feel good and give me a good stretch.
Advice to young athletes
Stay out of trouble. Peace and love.
How did you get into freestyle?
My parents got my brother and I interested in freestyle at Le centre de ski Le Relais, shortly after Jean-Luc Brassard won his Olympic medal.
Favorite meal
Spicy agedashi tofu, sushi, spicy noodles and a home-cooked meal by my mom, Darcy King or Geri Henitiuk.
It would surprise you to know that…
I always sneeze two times (or more) in a row! Never just once.
If I wasn’t an athlete I would be…
An athlete in another sport, or a veterinarian.
Favorite World Cup spot and why
Inawashiro, Japan because of the pools, the nice rooms, the culture and the food. The Japanese are really the nicest people, very respectful!
